Cadillac Capsule Collection

Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen told the world this week that he wants his brand to become more autonomous from GM and that he fully intends to sell 500,000 vehicles a year by 2020. Today, the brand launched something called the Cadillac Capsule Collection, a Fall/Winter clothing line co-created with fashion icon Nick Wooster. This will almost certainly get them to the half-million mark even faster.

The Cadillac Capsule Collection goes on sale at www.Gilt.com/CadillacCapsule with items ranging from topcoats and cardigans to bomber jackets and casual suits. Prices are said to range from $59 to $2,000. For what it’s worth, the likely candidate for most inexpensive catalog item is something called “The Haute Hat,” which means that you’re looking at paying $60 for a wool ballcap.

“Getting dressed is a form of self-expression, and today, men are more attuned than ever to the possibilities in front of them,” Wooster said. “My approach to curating this collection with Cadillac was to show a spectrum of ideas that can fit into a variety of lifestyles. We’ve worked with a cross section of some of the most interesting emerging designers to create a collection that is, in my opinion, stylish, appropriate and cool.”
