Cadillac CT6 Styling Will Follow the Norm
Back when we thought that the Cadillac CT6 was going to be called the LTS, we were under the impression that the styling would take a fair amount of cues from the Elmiraj concept of way back when. Even when we learned the actual name of the model, it was still understood throughout the automotive community that the Cadillac CT6 styling would resemble that of the Elmiraj. Thus, we hammered it in to most of our posts on the CT6.
And now? Well, we hate to admit it, but we were wrong. According to Automotive News, Cadillac will be sticking to the existing design language (“art and science”) for the CT6 sedan. This means we can expect angular lines and the typical Caddy headlamps and taillights that are vertically stacked.
“It’ll be different and it will certainly stand out in the portfolio,” Ed Welburn, head of GM global design, remarked. “But you won’t see a real shift in direction.”
And in the same breath, he quelled our hopes that it would be influenced by the Elmiraj: “I think Elmiraj was more of an influence on some other things we’re working on for Cadillac.”
So what exactly will the Cadillac CT6 look like? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but the model is due to be unveiled this spring, so we don’t have long to wait.
