GM’s North American President, Mark Reuss, recently made several big announcements about the GM brands. For instance, Chevy will be putting out an all-electric EV, Cadillac will be introducing four new models next year, and the Cadillac CT6 will be offered as a plug-in hybrid and will have video streaming from a backup camera where a rearview mirror would be. According to GM Authority, Reuss also announced that the Cadillac CT6’s engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, will be the “most power six-cylinder gas engine in the segment.”

The Cadillac CT6’s engine will be paired with an eight-speed gearbox and will also boast start-stop technology for improved efficiency. While the eight-speed is also used for the Corvette and some of GM’s pickups, it will be specially tailored for the CT6.

Reuss also announced that the CT6 will be much lighter than anything before it, making use of a mixed material body structure (though GM isn’t banking on aluminum like Ford is with the F-150).
