Cadillac’s global sales for February totaled 18,096 vehicles, a slight decline from the luxury brand’s global totals for February 2015. Cadillac, however, has very little reason to panic: not only does that level them at the same pace established through two months last year, but the upcoming release of two key models—the CT6 and XT5—would indicate that its sales are only going to increase greatly in the months ahead.

“We’re building a strong foundation of product substance and luxury brand appeal on a global basis, elevating every aspect of our business,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “We continue to see consumers selecting a richer mix of models. The latest available data shows Cadillac with the highest average transaction prices in the U.S. market among mainstream luxury brands. With rising brand prestige, the stage is set for the launch of two all-new models—the CT6 prestige sedan and XT5 luxury crossover.”

The first CT6 sedans begin hitting dealerships this month, and the XT5 is expected to be arriving by the start of Q2 2016.

Cadillac moved 11,840 vehicles in the United States in February, up 0.9% from February of last year. Sales in China were down 16.3% at 4,766 units, but they remain up by 1.8% over two months at a total of 13,103 vehicles delivered.

Sales in Canada were up 44.5% at 685 vehicles sold, sales in Mexico were up 29.5%, and sales in the European Union and Russia were up 125.3.

“Cadillac’s business in Canada has doubled over the past three years, driven by increasing demand for our transformed product portfolio and reflecting the enhanced stature of the brand,” de Nysschen said.

To date, Cadillac has sold 38,721 vehicles around the world in 2016, only 17 vehicles behind its pace last year.
