2018 Cadillac XTS Launched in China

A second chance can be a wonderful thing, and the success of the Cadillac XTS in 2017 is proof positive of that point. Despite having been marked for discontinuation with the introduction of the CT6 to Cadillac’s lineup, the XTS has put forth strong sales in all of Cadillac’s major markets, including China.

To capitalize, Cadillac is introducing the latest version of the XTS to China in November, incorporating design language representative of the brand’s Escala concept car. Among the aesthetic updates gracing the new XTS are automatic LED headlights and wing-like taillamps that compliment a body made sleeker by an extended C-pillar.

On the inside, the XTS maintains its sense of spaciousness and stylishness, adding a jade brown interior hue that emphasizes cut-and-sewn details and helps genuine wood accents pop. The XTS will also add the latest generation of CUE infotainment, made more intuitive with voice recognition and navigation technologies, as well as OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

The 2018 Cadillac XTS also becomes the first vehicle in Cadillac’s lineup to come with the ability to update apps and other software over the air.  Other new additions to the XTS include Collision Mitigation System and Lane Keep Assist and Bose Active Noise Cancellation system.

The Cadillac XTS is offered with a retuned 2.0-liter turbocharged direct injection engine, which boasts an output of 98 kW (131 horsepower) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. The addition of start/stop functionality cuts fuel consumption by 10% over the previous iteration.

Cadillac will offer its XTS in three variants that will range in price from RMB 299,900 (approximately $45,240 USD) to RMB 359,900 (approximately $54,290 USD).
