Cadillac XT5 FIRST LIMITED EDITION

Update: added details pertaining to powertain and drivetrain

General Motors Japan this week introduced the 2017 Cadillac XT5 to the market ahead of its October release, and in so doing, it announced a special limited-edition version of the crossover that will be limited to a scant 20-unit run.

The somewhat cumbersomely titled Cadillac XT5 FIRST LIMITED EDITION will launch on October 28th, the same day that the Cadillac XT5 will arrive in Japan in its Luxury and Platinum trims. Cadillac on Thursday also priced the XT5 Luxury at ¥ 6,685,200 (approximately $59,418 USD) and the XT5 Platinum at ¥ 7,549,200 (approximately $67,097 USD). All models will be offered with the 3.6-liter V6 mated to an eight-speed automatic and an AWD drivetrain.

The Cadillac XT5 FIRST LIMITED EDITION will build upon the XT5 Platinum and is offered in two exterior hues: Crystal White Tully Coats and Stellar Black Metallic. Only 10 of each color will be sold. Both will be offered with Jet Black interior, and both will add an illuminated sill plate and assist step. This limited-edition version of the XT5 will carry an asking price of ¥ 7,830,000 (approximately $69,593 USD), making for a modest price bump for a vehicle of such limited quantities.

The two colors of the XT5 FIRST LIMITED EDITION are not limited to that 20-unit run, however. Both colors are available for the XT5 Luxury and XT5 Platinum at an additional cost. The XT5 Luxury is offered in Radiant Silver Metallic as the sole non-paid option; the XT5 Platinum is available in Harbor Blue Metallic, Dark Granite Metallic, or, for an additional cost, Red Passion Tinto Court in addition to Crystal White Tully Coat and Stellar Black Metallic.
