Cadillac has appointed Richard Brekus to the role of its Director of Global Product Strategy, effective August 17th. Brekus departs from his previous role as President of MSP Advisors, from which he brings a wealth of experience with regards to product, marketing, and sales consultation in the automotive industry.

Brekus will now report to Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen as the latest cog in the brand’s ever-strengthening management machine. Brekus will lead the company’s global product and portfolio planning, placing him in a key position within a brand that has plans to build as many as four new crossover vehicles and possibly even an incredible supercar by 2020.

“Richard’s appointment to Cadillac’s management team signals our heightened focus on growing the brand with a balanced product portfolio across our global markets.” de Nysschen said. “I look forward to having him on my team as a strategic partner who will play a key role in continuing our brand transformation.”

Cadillac has plans to grow its business to 500,000 global sales by 2020, all while introducing what de Nysschen describes as a “product onslaught” and achieving greater autonomy from General Motors. Brekus’ experience in senior leadership positions in the realms of product planning and new vehicle sales over the course of nearly two decades with BMW will likely serve Cadillac well toward this end.
