Cadillac Reveals Escalade May Name Other Vehicles in Its Lineup
What do you think of when you hear the words ‘Cadillac Escalade’? According to General Motors, ‘Escalade’ may name other vehicles in the luxury brand.
Since its release in 1998, ownership of a Cadillac Escalade has come to be known as a sign of success. Big-wheelin’ execs, celebrities and athletes drive it. And if someone in your family drives one, you are probably well acquainted with the “eyebrow raise of surprise,” a sure sign people are impressed with your ride.
It is this brand name GM wants to spread to other luxury vehicles in Cadillac’s lineup. Currently, Cadillac’s other models are named using letters only.
“There’s a lot of equity in Escalade and I’d like to explore the notion of other vehicles that would carry that brand name,” Bob Ferguson, head of Cadillac, said at the much anticipated reveal of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade.
The unveiling in NYC featured celebrities Donald Trump and Autumn de Wilde, famous for photographing musicians and bands. See what we mean?
Though no timeline has been given for the decision to possibly expand of the name, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade is clearly working hard to maintain its reputation.
We’ll keep you posted on any name-changing decisions.
