General Motors reported record September sales totaling 343,773 vehicles between its three brands and various joint ventures. Sales increased 16% year-over-year on the strength of an all-time sales record for Cadillac and September sales record for Buick and Baojun.

“The growth in demand last month was supported by improving product mix,” said GM Executive Vice President and GM China President Matt Tsien. “We saw strong sales momentum across our brands, especially Cadillac in the luxury segment.”

Cadillac sales were up 63% year-over-year at a total of 12,539 units, setting a new monthly sales record and marking the third month in a row that year-over-year growth has exceeded 50% for the brand. Cadillac’s growth was led by the continued growth of its XT5, which saw sales exceed 4,000 units in September

Buick sales increased 23% to 108,325 units, led by the Envision crossover, which was up 70% with 18,518 units delivered, and Verano, which saw sales exceeding 15,000 units. Sales of the Excelle GT are also strong, with the monthly average for deliveries approaching 30,000 units after nine months.

Chevrolet sales grew 2.6% with 51,932 units, with more than 23,000 units belonging to the new Cruze. September also marked the launch month for the sixth-generation Camaro.

Baojun sales totaled 62,719 units, up 33% year-over-year and led by a 45% increase for the Baojun 730. In its first month on the market, sales of the Baojun 310 nearly reached 5,000 units. Wuling sales were also up, increasing by 6% to 108,225 units.

Through the first three quarters of 2016, GM’s sales in China are up 9%, totaling 2,718,315 vehicles delivered.
