Cadillac remains undecided on the Elmiraj concept’s future.

Cadillac struck gold in August last year when the luxury brand unveiled the Elmiraj concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, signaling what could be Cadillac’s future flagship coupe. Back in December, GM President, Mark Reuss, even called the Elmiraj “the car Cadillac needs.” Yet still today, Cadillac remains undecided on the Elmiraj.

According to Automotive News, GM Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, said last week at the WardsAuto Interiors Conference, “It has been so well received wherever it has been shown,” indicating that this “is a good sign” for the Elmiraj’s future. However, he remained mum on whether GM would actually go through with a production version of the concept car.

When it debuted, the Elmiraj concept sported a powerful, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that could place it against high-end models from Mercedes-Benz and even—get this—Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

We will keep our fingers crossed and will most definitely be sure to let you know if Cadillac gives any further indication about the Elmiraj’s future. Keep checking in!
