Cadillac’s Elite DPi-V.R Makes Canadian Debut
Cadillac’s DPi-V.R makes its Canada debut at the Canadian International AutoShow
Canada got its first glimpse of Cadillac’s cutting-edge DPi-V.R race car last week at the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show.
Fresh off a big win at the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race in January, co-drivers Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande were on hand for the auto show, where the DPi-V.R will be on display through Feb. 25.
The No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series and is driven by the Wayne Taylor Racing team. The IMSA Championship series is the fastest performance car racing competition in North America.
“Racing is in our DNA,” said Hossein Hassani, managing director of Cadillac Canada. “Cadillac’s V-Performance production models—the ATS-V and CTS-V—are transforming our brand’s product substance, earning a place among the world’s elite high performance marques. The Cadillac DPi-V.R further strengthens our V-Performance portfolio, placing Cadillac into the premier series of sports car racing in North America.”

The Cadillac DPi-V.R
The DPi-V.R boasts a naturally aspirated, 600-horsepower V8 engine and weighs in at just 2,050 pounds. It incorporates key elements from the luxury auto brand such as a vertical LED headlight scheme, a boldly sculpted body, and V-Performance wheels with Brembo brakes. Other Cadillac touches include an air intake designed with the Cadillac crest’s trapezoidal look.
The DPi-V.R also incorporates the Rear Camera Mirror found on Cadillac’s CTS, XT5, and Escalade models. This device sends streaming video to the rear view mirror from a high-definition camera mounted on the back of the car.
