Cadillac’s Luxury EV Lineup Might Grow After 2014 ELR
With the growing interest in the 2014 Cadillac ELR, it’s no wonder that Cadillac has considered adding more electric vehicles to their luxury car lineup. According to an interview with The Detroit Bureau with Cadillac’s global sales chief, Bob Ferguson, a luxury EV that is both larger and more upscale that the Volt-based ELR might be in the future for the brand.
“I’m so optimistic about how well [the Cadillac ELR plug-in] will do, especially on the West Coast and in the Northeast,” said Ferguson. “It will bring us a lot of new customers, I’m sure.”
With only a limited number of 2014 ELRs being produced, which will be sold at an MSRP of $75,995, Cadillac hopes that the luxuriously quiet cabin and new technology the model offers will turn prospective customers heads from Tesla to their brand.
The 2014 Cadillac ELR goes on sale in January and is already benefitting from quite a bit of buzz raised by rave reviews. Be sure to check back to the News Wheel for more updates on the ELR as we get closer to its release, as well as for further information regarding the future of the luxury EV!
