Cadillac’s Rear Camera Mirror Wins Best New Safety Technology
Cadillac’s Rear Camera Mirror, which will debut on the brand’s new CT6 sedan and XT5 crossover, was named the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada’s 2016 Best New Safety Technology at the Montreal International Auto Show.
The Rear Camera Mirror was also named the “Best of What’s New” by Popular Science last year.
“Cadillac is honored to be recognized by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada for the Rear Camera Mirror as it exemplifies our leadership in the development of innovative technologies that keep our customers safe at all times,” said Mahmoud Samara, director of sales and marketing, Cadillac in Canada “This award reinforces Cadillac’s commitment to technologies that are reinventing the automotive luxury experience.”
The Rear Camera Mirror streams video to the rear view mirror in a 1280×240 pixel TFT-LCD display, provided by a high-definition camera. This technology is intended to improve visibility and reduce the likelihood of accidents.
The new CT6 will be launched in Canada next month, and the XT5 will likely arrive in the early summer.
