California Woman Jumps Out of Moving Hyundai, Lets Car Roll into Oncoming Traffic
And no, it wasn't a self-driving car...
If there’s one type of news we at The News Wheel love, it’s crazy driver escapades caught on dash cams.
One case of inexplicable antics took place in California and was caught on video. On a sunny Tuesday evening in September (despite the time-stamp on the footage), a silver Hyundai Sonata sedan took a stroll through Harbor Boulevard—without a driver.
In a video posted you YouTube by UlikeUCHere, a car with a dashcam found itself behind a car which refused to stay in its lane.
After 30 seconds of erratic maneuvering, the driver of the Hyundai slammed on the brakes, hopped out of the car, and continued to walk alongside the vehicle as it rolled down the road.
The dashcam continued following the silver car, capturing its trek across the median and into oncoming traffic. The sedan collided with a white SUV before slowly creeping to a stop on the far sidewalk.
The driver, a 22-year-old San Bernadino woman, was taken to a local hospital for “a non injury-related reason” before being arrested for DUI and subsequently released due to “insufficient evidence.”
Many viewers of the video theorize the reckless driver was under the influence–or perhaps was frightened by a spider in the car. It’s also been noted that the silver Hyundai still possessed dealer tags–so either the vehicle was very recently purchased, was out on a test drive, or possibly stolen.
All we can say is—that’s a terrible dangerous thing to do and no way to treat a Hyundai!
