Can You Beat Our Time in this Toyota/Back to the Future Game?
Back in 1985, we thought that 2015 would be filled with flying cars, hoverboards, and many other magnificent feats of technology. The flying cars might not be here yet, but Toyota’s hydrogen-powered Mirai sedan is almost here, and the automaker is gearing up for its release alongside stars from the Back to the Future series. Toyota is counting down to October 21, 2015—both the Mirai’s release date and the fictional date to which Doc Brown and Marty McFly travelled in Back to the Future II—by releasing first a video, and now a fun game that will ruin your productivity for the rest of the day.
The goal of the game is to get to 88 mph as fast as you can by scrolling your mouse or trackpad. If you don’t have one, you can also play by rapidly tapping your space bar. Once you reach the magic number, the game will display the amount of time it took you to get there, and you can either play again or share your score on either Facebook or Twitter.
Our top score? An impressive 8.57 seconds. If you think you can beat that, be our guest; there’s nothing we like more than a little friendly competition while wasting away the remainder of our Friday afternoon.
