Carlos Ghosn back in the day

No matter what car brand you prefer, there is no questioning that Carlos Ghosn on top of his game in the automotive world. He leads not one but two large automakers as head of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, and he has built up both brands significantly since he took the reins. Now everyone from business students and curious readers can learn all about the President and CEO straight from the man himself.

Nissan will be publishing a series of essays from Carlos Ghosn on their press site over the next few weeks, covering everything in Ghosn’s life from birth to the present day. These essays were fist published on Nikkei Asian Review’s website, and the complete series can be found there. As of publication of this post, the first two chapters covering his early years and the first days of his professional life have been uploaded to the website. Born in 1954 in Brazil, Ghosn’s family eventually moved to Lebanon after Ghosn became ill from drinking contaminated water. He then went on to college prep courses and university in France.

We look forward to reading the rest of this series. This is the businessman that was terribly unpopular when he became the head of Nissan, because the Japanese wanted a leader from their own country for the carmaker, but he worked hard to turn it all around. Not only did he manage to bring Nissan away from the brink of bankruptcy, but he put them on the cupping edge of new automotive technology. We all have a lot to learn from him.
