Cars.com ‘Best of 2017’ Award Goes to Chrysler Pacifica Minivan
Just to recap, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has already earned the North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Award at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, but that hasn’t stopped even more trophies from rolling in for this minivan, as Cars.com recently gave the Pacifica its “Best of 2017” Award, making it the first minivan ever to win the site’s top honor.
Quality, innovation, and value, those were the three key criteria that Cars.com editors considered when they voted on this award. The only vehicles eligible were 2017 model year vehicles that either were completely new or fully redesigned. In the end, the new Pacifica picked up the award by beating out top-notch competition, such as the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, 2017 Genesis G90, 2017 Kia Sportage, 2017 GMC Acadia, and the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. Although, the Fiat 124 Spider was named “Best New Convertible” by Cars.com.
The Pacifica won this prestigious award thanks largely to the approximately 40 new innovations it brought to the minivan segment. Besides being the first minivan to earn a 2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating, the Pacifica Hybrid is also the most efficient minivan ever produced. That’s because this van earns 84 MPGe when using only electric power and can travel up to 33 miles with just a single charge.
The exterior of the Pacifica is also sleeker than the old Town & Country model it replaced, while the interior of the Pacifica provides even greater value. A built-in vacuum cleaner, Stow ‘n Go seats, and a rear-seat entertainment system are all offered with this minivan. Furthermore, the Pacifica is available with more than 100 safety and security features.
“In many ways, Chrysler turned the minivan segment upside down with its new Pacifica,” according to Cars.com.
This latest honor only adds to the growing trophy case of the Pacifica, which is by far the most awarded minivan of the year.
