It is not yet known if the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD will bear the same stylistic changes gracing its light duty cousin, but we do know a bit of what will be new and different with GMC’s full-ton offerings.

According to change sheets obtained by GM Authority, both the 2500HD and 3500HD will be undergoing near-identical changes. Both models are losing four color options—Sonoma Red Metallic, Fire Red, Bronze Alloy Metallic, and Emerald Green Metallic—in favor of one new color for Double Cab models (Crimson Red Tintcoat), one new color for Crew Cab models (Deep Garnet Metallic), and one color available on all models (Cardinal Red).

Both the 2500HD and 3500HD are losing the current radio unit in favor of IntelliLink Radio with a seven-inch color touchscreen and returning HD Radio after it was removed for 2015. Both also add wireless charging and improved power steering with active hydraulic assist and recirculating ball as standard equipment, and the SLE Convenience Package for Double Cab and Regular Cab models receives a manual tilt and telescoping steering wheel.

Also, in both cases, the Z71 Suspension Package requires a model with 4WD, and the All-Terrain HD Package is only available for Crew Cab SLT models.

In the lone noticeable difference, the 2500HD removes two sets of 18-inch wheels and two sets of 20-inch wheels, replacing the deletions with only one 20-inch polished aluminum wheel option. The 3500HD loses two sets of 18-inch wheels, but does not offer any replacement.
