2016 Chevrolet SIlverado

The Chevrolet Silverado is having a great year! Sales of Chevy’s staple pickup truck have risen 32%, making it the fastest growing full-size pickup brand this year. Today, Chevy has announced major changes coming to the Chevy Silverado in 2016 which will hopefully help it even more when going up against trucks like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500.

The Chevy Silverado’s new grille is probably the first thing to catch your eye. The new design brings in the color of the truck to help tie it together visually. The body and hood have also been resculpted for more drama and visual appeal.

In addition to the newer body style, the 2016 Chevy Silverado is also equipped with Chevy MyLink that supports the highly- anticipated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. This means that using your phone to stream music and receiving messages hands-free just got a lot easier!

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado will also expand use of General Motors’ eight-speed automatic transmission. The transmission was developed to assist with fuel economy and it provides more torque than previous transmission styles. Paired with a V8 engine, the Chevrolet Silverado’s engine is one of the most powerful available in a light-duty pickup.

Added safety features finish up the list of updates for the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. Ever since its redesign in 2013, sales of the Silverado have grown significantly every year. These numbers even kept growing after the introduction of the 2015 Chevy Colorado, the smaller truck option. With these updates, Chevrolet hopes that the Silverado will take over even more of the pickup truck sales in the United States.
