Chevrolet is celebrating 100 years since it first began manufacturing trucks, and it is taking that celebration worldwide. This week, Chevy had a significant presence at the 34th Thailand International Motor Expo, where it delivered long-time Chevrolet fan Dr. Mana Kanchanasaensong with the keys to the country’s first 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Centennial Edition truck.

“This will be my tenth Chevrolet vehicle, and I’m really happy to have the first limited-edition Colorado truck in Thailand,” said Kanchanasaensong. “I have driven Chevrolets since 2002, and have always been very happy with their performance and quality as well as the service from my dealership. I am thrilled to be able to drive home my brand-new Colorado.”

“To celebrate our 100th anniversary of trucks, we wanted to launch a model that our customers would love,” said GM Southeast Asia Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service, and Marketing Sumito Ishii of the Colorado Centennial Edition. “We have taken an award-winning truck in the 2018 Colorado and bettered it with design cues and badges from our 100-year heritage. This is a truck that our customers will be proud to own and drive.”

Chevrolet also used its stage at Motor Expo 2017 to display the evolution of its truck brand over a century with vintage trucks from Chevy’s past and the products that populate its present and shape its future. Its display also features engagement kiosks where visitors can upload photos and videos to Facebook, a Chevy Plus Lounge for Chevy Plus customers, and complimentary fortune-telling from Katha Shinabanchorn for customers reserving their 2018 Colorado Centennial Editions.

“This year marks a significant milestone for Chevrolet, as we celebrate 100 years of Chevrolet Trucks,” said Ishii. “Over the past century, more than 85 million trucks have been sold around the world. We are excited to share this journey and our deep heritage with our loyal customers at the Motor Expo 2017.”
