Chevrolet is introducing a new design aesthetic for the Chevy Malibu, Cruze, and Spark during the 2019 model year

Chevy’s passenger cars are back with a brand-new style

Despite the growing popularity of SUVs, crossovers, and pickup trucks, passenger cars continue to be an important vehicle segment for automakers. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Chevrolet plans to update its passenger car lineup to keep up with consumer tastes.

The American automaker recently revealed restyled versions of its Malibu, Cruze, and Spark vehicles for the 2019 model year.

The exterior designs for these three passenger cars have been updated with a new signature style, set to be featured throughout the Chevrolet lineup. Chevy says the retooled front ends of the 2019 Malibu, Cruze, and Spark are designed to invoke a more premium look, without sacrificing the athletic aesthetic of the models.

Of course, a new look won’t be the only change for the 2019 iterations of these three cars. The Malibu, Cruze, and Spark will each receive additional upgrades for the upcoming model year.

The Malibu gets a sporty makeover

For 2019, Chevrolet will introduce the first-ever Malibu RS. This Malibu variant delivers a sporty appearance with personalized design aesthetics.

Chevrolet is also set to add new trim levels to the upcoming Cruze family of vehicles, including the first Chevrolet Cruze LS Hatch for the line.

There’s even an updated look for the Chevy Spark

Finally, the 2019 Chevrolet Spark will receive a new active safety feature: Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking. Other updates for the Spark include a set of new exterior colors.

“We are committed to offering consumers a full lineup of products with fresh designs, new technologies and efficient powertrain options,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The investments we have made in Spark, Cruze and Malibu will help position the brand for success in competitive segments that still make up a significant part of the total industry.”

Notably absent from this lineup of upgraded Chevrolet passenger vehicles are the Chevrolet Sonic and the Chevrolet Impala. Recent rumors suggest that both of these models are set to be discontinued in the near future.

As for the remaining members of Chevy’s passenger car family, new 2019 versions of these vehicles should be available at Chevy dealerships later this year.
