Chevrolet to Auction 2016 COPO Camaro to Benefit United Way
Last November at the SEMA Auto Show, Chevrolet revealed one seriously special Camaro, a purpose-built COPO Camaro, designed to race in the NHRA Stock Eliminator class. With a personalized exterior look crafted by both Chevy designers and NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force (in “Red Hot,” no less), the 2016 COPO Camaro features a 350 racing engine, a 2.9-liter supercharger, and an interior decked out in all you need to hit to the track. This is the very first sixth-generation COPO Camaro—serial number 2016COPO001.
Choices, Choices: Should you buy new, or buy used?
Oh, and it is up for auction. On Friday, January 29th, the mighty Camaro will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, with all proceeds of the winning bid going to benefit the nonprofit United Way.
“I was extremely honored to work with Chevrolet and help design the 2016 COPO Camaro,” said Courtney Force. “The bright red color and the signature slash marks towards the back on the car bring a part of my Traxxas Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car to the COPO Camaro, which I think is really cool. The proceeds from this car go to a great cause and benefit the United Way, so it’s an awesome project all around.”
