Last year, Chevrolet announced it was reentering the medium-duty truck market for 2016 and small business owners are already praising the company for making that decision.

“Now that Chevrolet is in the Low Cab Forward business, I can consolidate my business with one company for sales and service,” said Don Harter, owner of Harmony Outdoor Power Equipment in Auburn, Indiana. “It makes our entire organization more efficient.”

The new Chevrolet Low Cab Forward truck is customizable, with the choice between regular and crew cab body styles. In addition, each buyer has the option between 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, 5.2-liter turbo-diesel, and 6.0-liter gasoline-powered V8 engines. All of these engines come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Harter opted for a diesel powertrain in the Low Cab Forward truck he purchased. He said his team has already put more than 5,000 miles on the truck, which they use to deliver bulky outdoor gear to customers.

“My drivers love how this truck maneuvers like a car and they also appreciate the quiet ride in the cab,” said Harter. “We are already seeing significantly improved fuel economy with the new Chevrolet Low Cab Forward, which makes it a great choice from a financial perspective.”

Harter’s new Low Cab Forward truck is a replacement for an Isuzu NPR, which the company formerly used to complete deliveries. GM initially partnered with Isuzu Motors to create its new medium-duty trucks, but the two companies ended that partnership earlier this year.

The Chevrolet Low Cab Forward with the gasoline engine carries a starting MSRP of $40,900, while the diesel variant features a starting MSRP of $48,375.
