Chevy Announces Starting XI Contest for Young Manchester United Fans
General Motors has announced the details of the annual Chevrolet Beautiful Possibilities Program, and it will be adding a contest that will determine the 11th member of the “Starting XI.” Chevy’s “Starting XI” is a group of 11 children who will walk onto the pitch hand-in-hand with members of Manchester United at the start of the 2016-17 season.
From February 17th through March 8th, parents of children aged 7-11 years of age are encouraged to submit a story of no more than 400 words about the impact football has had on their child. After the deadline, a panel of judges will choose their favorite to be the 11th participant at Old Trafford later this year.
“Our Chevrolet mascots embody the spirit of play and through the years they have shown us the positive impact playing football has on their lives,” Sharon Nishi, General Director of SAIC-GM Chevrolet Sales & Marketing, said: “The Chevrolet Starting XI contest is another way in which we are inviting children in China and around the world to know every moment matters.”
