Between its decreased weight, advanced powertrains, and Motor Trend Car of the Year trophy, you probably don’t need any more reasons to buy the new sixth-generation Camaro. But if your wife still needs a little persuading, the fact that Kelley Blue Book just named the 2016 Chevy Camaro LT the Best Resale Value among all sports cars might help you convince her that it’s not such a bad investment.

“If you want to justify buying a performance coupe like the Chevrolet Camaro, winning resale values are invaluable,” KBB.com editors wrote. “Though wonderful justification, the Camaro’s strong residual numbers are simply icing on an impressively fun and capable cake.”

According to Kelley Blue Book, the new Camaro will retain 61% of its value after 36 months, and 49% after 60 months. That puts the Camaro ahead of every other vehicle in its segment, including the rival 2016 Ford Mustang, which finished third among sports cars (with the Porsche Cayman taking second).

KBB praised the new Camaro LT’s superior handling, surprisingly powerful four-cylinder engine, styling, and comfortable interior, as well as advanced tech features including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

“Toss in winning resale figures and a base price less than $27,000 and the Chevy Camaro stands as an undeniable sports car value,” raves KBB.
