The Chevy Cruze’s design is set for a major refresh

Even as the popularity of compact sedans has faded in recent years, the Chevrolet Cruze has remained one of Chevy’s best-selling models. To ensure that the Cruze keeps up its current sales momentum, Chevrolet is introducing some major changes to the Cruze lineup for the 2019 model year.

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze will have a redesigned style and a brand-new trim.

The first change that consumers will take notice of is the Cruze’s redesigned front fascia. A wider grille and streamlined accents have been added to the 2019 Cruze to give it a more “premium” appearance.

“Cruze’s refreshed styling gives Cruze a more upscale look while maintaining its Chevrolet design DNA,” explains John Cafaro, executive director of Global Chevrolet Design.

Chevrolet is also introducing a new hatchback trim to the Chevrolet Cruze family: the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze Hatch LS. When first introduced, the Chevy Cruze Hatch accounted for 20% of the Chevy Cruze’s overall sales, and the automaker hopes that another hatchback model for the Cruze will increase that market share.

Additional updates for the Chevrolet Cruze include remote start and automatic climate control for the LT and Premier models, as well as the all-new Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. The 2019 Cruze also includes advanced driver safety technology, such as the available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Forward Collision Alert.

Cruze drivers can tap into the power of either the 1.4-liter turbo engine or the available 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine. Those familiar with the Chevrolet Cruze lineup will recognize returning Chevrolet staples, such as a 4G LTE hotspot.

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is set to go on sale later this year, sometime in the fall. Automotive enthusiasts can expect to hear more about this refreshed compact car as its release date approaches.
