Last year, Chevrolet announced the 650-horsepower Camaro ZL1 would be making its way to the Middle East market in 2017. While that model is plenty powerful, it isn’t quite as track-focused as the new Corvette Grand Sport, which just so happens to be the newest Chevy performance car headed to the Middle East.

In case you haven’t heard, the Grand Sport is basically a blend of the Stingray and Z06 Corvettes. It takes the Z06’s track-honed aerodynamics package and Michelin tires, along with some other advanced equipment, and then combines it with the Stingray’s legendary LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces up to 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque.

The Corvette Grand Sport is so fast that it only needs 3.6 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph. In addition, the Grand Sport provides an estimated 1.05g in cornering abilities, but that number grows to 1.2g if you opt for the Z07 package.

Chevrolet is also offering a special Collector’s Edition version of the Corvette Grand Sport. This limited-edition model features a Watkins Glen Gray paint job that’s complemented by Tension Blue fender hash marks. Some of the notable interior features include leather-and-suede-wrapped seats with blue accent stitching. Chevrolet will only be allotting 30 Corvette Grand Sport Collector’s Editions to the Middle East market.

“Corvette is one of those legendary cars that is extremely popular here in the region as it continues to be one of the most advanced sports cars,” said Abdallah Madhoun, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Chevrolet, GM Middle East. “The 2017 Grand Sport takes track-bred technology to a new, exciting street legal threshold. With its arrival, the Corvette range offers a spectrum of high performance at price points that suit even the most demanding inner race car drivers.”
