The Chevy Malibu and Chevy Cruze Blue Line concepts set to debut at 2016 SEMA Show

Although they’re not set to officially debut until the SEMA Show opens in Las Vegas on November 1st, today Chevrolet went ahead and gave enthusiasts a sneak peek at the Malibu and Cruze RS hatchback Blue Line concepts.

Both concept cars are painted in Genesis White and accented with blue-tinted windows and 18-inch concept wheels painted slate blue metallic. And of course, because they’re headed to SEMA, both are loaded with extra add-ons.

“The Chevrolet Blue Line Series concepts integrate accessories that offer greater personalization choices for customers,” said Roger McCormack, Chevrolet’s director of Accessories and Performance Parts Marketing. “Each vehicle wears production and concept accessories thematically linked under the Blue Line Series banner. We look forward to gauging public reaction at the SEMA Show and other venues.”

The production and concept accessories were developed alongside the vehicles in Chevrolet’s design studio.

“Chevrolet accessories bring a level of value and peace of mind that can only come from parts that are designed, engineered, tested and backed by the same team that developed the vehicles,” said McCormack. “It’s a level of integration that enhances the sporty appearance of the vehicles.”

In addition to the slate blue metallic 18-inch concept wheels, the Malibu Blue Line’s accessories include a ground effects kit with a rear diffuser, black grille insert, black Chevy bow tie emblems, rear spoiler, floor liners with premium metal badings, illuminated doorsills, and a sport pedal kit.

The concept also features a suspension lowering kit that lowers the ride height 0.4 inches, and is designed to give models equipped with the 2.0-liter turbo a sportier stance to match their 250-horsepower engine. The Malibu Blue Line also features a concept Chevrolet Performance brake kit painted Harbor Gray Metallic, as well as some tinted headlamp and taillamp lenses and polished exhaust tips.

The Chevy Cruze RS Blue Line concept has the chrome grille insert and suspension lowering kit, as well as some soon-to-be-available Chevrolet Accessories. Those include the performance brake package (available by the end of 2016), and the performance air intake system and performance exhaust system (both available mid-2017).

The Malibu and Cruze Blue Lines will be joined by about 20 other Chevy models at this year’s SEMA Show, which runs from November 1st through the 4th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
