Chevy Sonic Added to KBB’s List of 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000
The 2015 Sonic was the only Chevy model included on this year’s list from KBB.com

Every year, Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com compiles a list of the “10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000.” This year, the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic was among those vehicles included on the list.
Available in sedan and hatchback versions, the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic is powered by 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 138 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. That motor works with a six-speed automatic transmission in order to yield an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
Editors from KBB.com complimented the Sonic’s “well-rounded driving manners,” as well as its “easy-to-use Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system.” This infotainment system allows the driver to perform hands-free phone calls via Siri Eyes Free, while passengers can listen to their favorite tunes through apps like Pandora.
In terms of safety, the ’15 Sonic earned the best possible rating of five stars from the federal government and was also honored with a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Sonic comes standard with traction and stability control, 10 standard airbags, and antilock brakes. Other advanced safety features available for the 2015 Sonic include Lane departure warning and Forward Collision Alert.
The Chevrolet Sonic was also included on last year’s “10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000” list from KBB.com.
Vehicles that joined the ’15 Sonic on this year’s list are the 2015 Fiat 500, 2015 Subaru Impreza, 2015 Honda Fit, 2015 Ford Fiesta, 2015 Honda Civic, 2015 Jeep Renegade, 2015 Kia Soul, 2015 Volkswagen Golf, and the 2015 Mazda3.
