Chevy Teases Next-Generation 2020 Silverado HD Pickup
Hot on the heels of two other Silverado announcements, Chevrolet is teasing a 2019 debut for the next-generation Silverado HD pickup.
“With a completely new, expanded range of Silverado models on the horizon, we expect to see even more truck buyers in Chevrolet showrooms,” said Alan Batey, global head of Chevrolet.
Prototype testing hasn’t begun yet for the Silverado HD, but Chevrolet says it will be designed with the needs and priorities of heavy-duty truck buyers in mind and hints that the new model will include bolder, larger proportions.
Chevrolet has been busy updating its Silverado lineup. In January, the brand unveiled the 2019 Silverado 1500, which weighs less than previous models but features the same old Chevy dependability and longevity. In addition, the Silverado 1500 gives drivers an array of customization options to fit their precise pickup needs.
Chevrolet also recently announced a lineup of Silverado chassis-cab models: the 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD. These easily serviceable and customizable medium-duty trucks for commercial customers will go on sale later this year.
“Chevrolet has built more than 85 million trucks in 100 years and we have applied that accumulated truck expertise to the new Silverado range,” said Batey. “All three Silverado models offer a wide range of choices, as no two truck customers are alike. Every Silverado is built to be long-lasting and dependable, as many customers need their trucks to earn a living or to do what they enjoy most when they’re off the clock.”
The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD will be assembled in Flint, Michigan. The first production models should be ready to go by fall 2019.
