The Chrysler Foundation has awarded more than $20,000 in booster funding, with grants of about $1,800 to twelve teams. The grants will help to offset travel expenses and registration fees, allowing the teams to participate in an otherwise costly educational trip.
“The Chrysler Foundation and Chrysler Group are proud to play a role in encouraging students to explore the worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education,” said Jody Trapasso, Senior Vice President, External Affairs, Chrysler Group LLC and President of The Chrysler Foundation. “We wish all of the teams the best of luck as they embark on this exciting and rewarding challenge.”

The 2014 FIRST Robotics’ design and build season kicked off in January, and at that time the Chrysler Foundation awarded $5,000 grants to 41 teams. The teams were then challenged to build robots capable of playing Aerial Assist, a game played by two opposing teams of three robots.
