Sergio Marchionne | Chrysler Group LLC Becomes FCA US LLC

Sergio Marchionne heads Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

Today it was announced that Chrysler Group LLC will officially be changing its name to FCA US LLC, effective immediately. This name change reflects the global name change of its parent company, which occurred back in October. The new global name is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA).

Please note, the Chrysler Group name change does not affect the headquarters’ location in Auburn Hills, Michigan, or the company’s board, holdings, brands, or management team. As it implies, the name change is, um, well, only a change in the name.

In the official release, Chrysler Group LLC FCA US LLC was sure to stress that this does not alter the vision of the company—and it does not affect its heritage. Even with its new name, the American company will strive to work toward the business plan that Sergio Marchionne unveiled back in May, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will respect the legacy of Walter P. Chrysler and the legacy of Fiat as the two former companies forge a future together.

The US company boasts more than 77,000 employees worldwide with 96% here in North America.
