Chrysler Group’s Ben Winter Named Head of Product Planning
Today, Chrysler Group LLC announced that Ben Winter has been appointed NAFTA Head of Product Planning. This promotion is effective immediately. In this position, Winter will be responsible for conducting research and orchestrating planning for all future vehicles on North American roadways. This appointment also adds him to the Chrysler Group Leadership Team.
Ben Winter comes to this position from Vice President, Vehicle Engineering. He has been with the company since 2008, when he joined as Chief Engineer, Minivan Segment. Before that, he worked at Ford Motor Company (since 1985).
Winter graduated from the University of Michigan with a whopping three degrees: a Master of Business Administration, a Doctorate in Metallurgical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Metallurgical Engineering. Before that, Winter graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
And in case you were wondering (because some of our staff were), metallurgy is, according to Dictionary.com, the “technique or science of working or heating metals so as to give them certain desired shapes or properties.”
Ah yes, metallurgy. Of course.
