Consumer Reports Names the Top 10 Most Fuel Efficient (Non-Electric) Cars
When it comes to fuel efficiency, it’s hard to beat electric vehicles, especially with their improving technology and expanding lineups. With new models like the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Tesla Model 3 emerging, electric vehicles are getting ready to catch on in a big way. Still, you don’t necessarily have to go with an all-electric car if you want to achieve some incredible fuel economy ratings. The modern automotive landscape is already dotted with hybrid vehicles that combine the best of alternative energy and traditional powertrains.
Recently, Consumer Reports conducted an expansive series of tests to see how the estimated fuel ratings of vehicles across the industry compared to the ratings that the Consumer Reports staff recorded themselves. While electric models unsurprisingly came out on top, Consumer Reports found several non-electric cars from various automotive brands that managed to impress with fuel efficiency of their own. At the end of the testing, these 10 non-electric cars managed to achieve the best fuel economy ratings.
