Corvettes Being Pulled

As you’ll remember, a sinkhole opened up beneath the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky back on February 12, taking eight rare and valuable Corvettes down into the near-30ft. deep hole and resulting in unknown damages. Corvette manufacturer GM has opted to oversee the restoration of the Corvettes, but only after the museum displays the eight Corvettes in their unaltered conditions in a special exhibit that will run from April to June.

As of yesterday afternoon, four of the eight Corvettes have been exhumed from their grave, with a construction crew rescuing the millionth Corvette ever produced from its temporary resting place. The remaining Corvettes being pulled include a 1984 PPG Pace Car, 2001 Mallet Hammer Z06, 1993, ZR-1 Spyder, and the 1.5 millionth Corvette ever made.

 

 

According to Jalopnik, the 2009 ZR1 “Blue Devil,” red 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette, and 1962 Tuxedo Black convertible have all been rescued thus far. The Corvette Museum has been kind enough to take a number of amazing photographs of the Corvettes being pulled from the earth.
