Protesters in France didn’t get the memo that American celebrities are supposedly bullet proof

As the anti-Uber protests heat up in France over the perceived favoritism given to the private chauffeur service, American musician Courtney Love got stuck right in the middle of the violence and was forced to watch the car she was riding in be destroyed by angry protesters.

Lucky for us Love decided to live Tweet the intense situation.

The protesters would not allow for Love’s car to turn around though, so the musician continued tweeting.

Love then sent a profanity laced tweet asking why France’s President François Hollande did not have police attending to the situation and wanted to know why the President was allowing his people to attack tourists. Love quickly came up with an escape plan.

Love then posted this video of the intense situation to her Instagram page.

how on earth are these people allowed to do this? the first car was destroyed, all tires slashed and beat with bats, these guys trying to open the doors and the cops are doing nothing?? French Taliban? civil reform needed in France?? I want to go home

Love then posted one last message thanking those motorcyclists for getting her to safety. She escaped the event unharmed, but the same cannot sadly be said for her vehicle.

we got out after being held hostage for an hour thanks to these two guys. I’m scared out of my wits. Mr. François Hollande president or libertine? I can’t believe this really just happened. love French people but your government blows #happytobealive #parisuberstrike wtf??
