Ford Supports the Michigan Science Center with Ford Fun Free Day

Earlier this year, Ford announced that it—along with its Ford Motor Company Fund—would be helping the Michigan Science Center bring the Spark!Lab exhibit to the state. It was also announced that, as a condition of its sponsorship, Ford Fund would sponsor four Ford Fun Free Days in the months to come. Today, Ford announced those dates.

The first of the four Ford Fun Free Days, which will offer free general admission access to MiSci, takes place on the 4th of July from 10 am to 3 pm. The second date will take place on Saturday, August 13th from 10 am to 6 pm, serving as both a back-to-school celebration and a celebration of educators. The third date will take place on Veteran’s Day, Friday, November 11th from 10 am to 8 pm. The final date will occur just after the start of the New Year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 15th, 2017 from 10 am to 5 pm.

“A good education focused on technical skills is essential for future innovation in business and increased prosperity for our communities,” said Yisel Cabrera, community relations manager, Ford Motor Company Fund. “By opening more doors to STEM, Ford is confident more students will be drawn to science and technology not only because it is fascinating, but also because it’s a lot of fun.”

It was also announced that Ford is a Genius Level sponsor of the STEMinista Project, which focuses on encouraging girls from the 4th to 8th grades to pursue education in the STEM fields.
