David Hasselhoff reprises his Baywatch role for the newest Dodge commercial

It might not be #ThrowbackThursday, but Dodge is throwing things way back. In the newest Dodge commercial, the American carmaker is paying homage to one of the most important television actors from the 1990s.

Enter David Hasselhoff in Baywatch mode.

The Hoff joins Richard Rawlings, racecar driver and over-all gear head, during the former’s most recent shift as Lt. Mitch Buchannan, head of the lifeguards at Malibu Beach in Los Angeles. Plenty of shenanigans ensue, ranging from shark-spotting while parasailing behind a Dodge Challenger to giving an inflatable shark mouth-to-mouth. And trust us—there is more than enough Baywatch-worthy drama to bring back that slight tinge of nostalgia. Dodge even brings back the iconic lifeguard station.

But this 60-second spot doesn’t just focus on Hasselhoff attempting to reprise his iconic role—it also has some pretty awesome cars, too. The Dodge Charger makes an appearance, as does the Challenger and the Dart. Even the Durango gets its 15 seconds of fame, along with the title, “The Seven-Seat Charger.”

Thankfully, these sexy, performance-oriented cars make it slightly easier to watch the Hoff running in slow motion.
