When it comes to the seventh-generation Ford Fiesta, let’s just say it’s better late than never.

After months of speculation, spy photos, and fan forum gossip, the new Ford Fiesta is finally set to be revealed tomorrow, November 28th, at a special launch event in Cologne, Germany. Ford CEO Mark Fields will be on hand to celebrate the car’s debut, as will Ford of Europe President Jim Farley. The two bosses are also expected to show off the Blue Oval’s latest commercial offerings at the event.

Spy photos have revealed the new Fiesta will maintain the same basic look as the sixth-generation model, save for a few minor updates. The test mule that’s been spotted wears a flatter and lower nose than the current hatchback. New swept back headlights and wider horizontal taillamps are also expected on the new model.

The reason for these not so drastic changes is because the car will use the same Global B platform as the current Fiesta, albeit with a few modifications of course.

The interior is expected to be more upscale and refined than any Fiesta that’s come before it. In addition, it’s widely assumed Ford will introduce its new Sync3 technology, which gives users the ability to access satellite navigation, stream music, and integrate their smartphone devices with the infotainment system.

Rumors also suggest that new active safety and driver assist equipment will be offered with the Fiesta. Blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning are two systems expected to become available.

Under the hood, the Fiesta could retain its three and four-cylinder engine offerings. However, a focus on the company’s three-cylinder EcoBoost engine would fit in line with Ford’s goal to produce more fuel efficient vehicles.

Consumers can expect the seventh-generation Ford Fiesta to become available in 2017 as a 2018 model year vehicle.

The Fiesta is scheduled to make its official debut at 2pm EST on November 29.
