Dodge has released the 2015 Charger SRT fuel economy figures.

The age-old question, “Which came first: the chicken or the egg?” still plagues mankind today, but we do know the answer to “Which came first: the Challenger SRT Hellcat or the Charger SRT Hellcat?” It was the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that was unveiled to the public first, and thus it has garnered much more attention than the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. In fact, Dodge gathered the EPA-estimate fuel economy figures for the Challenger SRT Hellcat way back in September, but only yesterday did it release the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat fuel economy numbers.

But it was worth the wait.

That’s because, despite its high power output (707 horsepower), the Charger SRT Hellcat still manages a highway fuel economy rating of 22 miles per gallon. It was also rated at 13 mpg in the city and 16 mpg combined.

“The new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is a multidimensional phenomenon,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of the Dodge and SRT Brands. “It is the quickest, fastest, most-powerful sedan ever produced – the world’s only four-door muscle car. Factor in its affordable price and 22-mpg highway fuel-economy rating and it’s clear that the Charger SRT Hellcat competes in a class all by itself.”

While the fuel economy is promising for a performance car like the Hellcat, it still does not manage to escape the gas guzzler tax. The suggested US MSRP for the Charger SRT Hellcat is $63,995, which includes the $1,700 tax.
