The 2014 Dodge Dart can add the title of 2014 Connected Small Car of the Year to its mantle after the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. The sporty Dart was given the award by the editors of Connected World Magazine for a number of technologically-progressive features, including the Uconnect touchscreen, LED instrument cluster, and Rear Cross Path detection among others.

“The Connected Car of the Year Award is confirmation from a third-party source that the Dodge Dart is at the forefront of technology in its class,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge Brand, in a press release. “The Dart’s Uconnect system with the 8.4-inch touch screen is world class, intuitive and easy to use. When you add the Dart’s unsurpassed in its class 10 air bags, 7-inch TFT LED instrument cluster and available Rear Cross Path detection and blind-spot monitoring, it really does offer the latest high-tech features designed to keep our customers connected and all at a tremendous value.”

The editors at Connected World Magazine lauded the 2014 Dart for its ability to mingle information and entertainment in a package that refrains from distracting drivers from the task at hand, including the Uconnect Voice Command system that makes voice-operated phone calls a possibility.

The 2014 Connected Small Car of the Year has been a hit with small car consumers since its 2013 relaunch thanks to a low starting price, an abundance of standard safety features, and the ubiquitous intangible that is its “cool factor.”
