Despite the fact that all Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats ended up being recalled, performance enthusiasts are clamoring for more. Demand has been so incredible, in fact, that although Dodge ended production in the middle of last month, it has recently figured out how to build an additional 1,000 Hellcats.

Of course, the 707-horsepower muscle cars were built at a low volume, but not because they were meant to be limited editions—just because they aren’t your typical daily drivers, so demand was expected to be on the lower side. Word that Dodge was looking for a way to add the extra 1,000 Hellcat models to the build schedule originally surfaced on Hellcat.org, but Dodge has since confirmed that it will be adding 1,000 units to the schedule.

Since they hit the market, more than 2,200 Hellcats have been delivered, yet nearly 10,000 orders have been placed at dealers. This is, in part, because dealers have been promising models to customers that they weren’t sure they would ever get. If Dodge can’t figure out a way to build all the models to fill these irresponsibly processed orders, those dealers might be in a bit of hot water.

There is no word yet if Dodge plans to build even more Hellcats beyond the additional 1,000.
