For the second month in a row, Ram was able to achieve a sales increase compared to a year ago. However, Dodge joined Ram in March by achieving impressive sales increases of its own.

Leading the charge for Dodge was the Dodge Journey, which experienced an incredible 100% increase in sales compared to a year ago, reaching a metric of 11,858 units sold. Strong sales for the Dodge Challenger, which experienced a 17% increase in units sold, also provided more support for Dodge.

Similarly to February, the Ram brand experienced an increase in sales compared to 2016. March Ram sales were up 6%, totaling 51,749 units sold.

484 Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles were sold last month, providing some support for the revived Alfa Romeo brand. Fiat, meanwhile, experienced a slight 5% decrease in sales during March.

News was not quite as good for the Jeep family. In March, Jeep experienced an 11% decrease in sales compared to the year before, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee being the only model that experienced an increase in sales.

Chrysler was even more negatively affected by March sales, experiencing a 33% decrease compared to a year ago. While an impressive 9,340 Pacifica units were sold last month, it couldn’t quite match the 14,200 units of the now-cancelled Chrysler Town & Country that were sold in March of 2016.

Overall, Ram and Alfa Romeo remain the only brands under the Fiat Chrysler umbrella that have retained an increased level of year-to-date sales. By the end of the first sales quarter, Ram has experienced a 5% increase in year-to-date sales thus far.
