Dongfeng Nissan Reveals Venucia T70 at Guangzhou
While much of the automotive world’s attention is turned to the City of Angels, there’s a plenty big auto show going on in Guangzhou at the moment. Nissan wouldn’t miss the opportunity to put a good foot forward in the world’s largest market for new car buyers, and so it is teaming with Dongfeng Nissan Motor Passenger Vehicle Company to introduce, among other things, the Venucia T70 compact SUV.
The Venucia T70 is exclusive to China and built upon the Nissan C-platform that also supports the first-gen Qashqai and second-gen X-Trail models. It will be offered with either a 120-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder of a 142-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder, with the former being mated to a CVT and the latter available with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.
“Chinese consumers are looking for a reliable SUV with advanced technology,” said Yong Ren, DFL-PV deputy managing director. “With T70, we have responded, delivering the best in technology, safety and quality.”
Nissan also took the opportunity to announce that it would be extending its UEFA Champions League sponsorship into China by partnering corporate VP Roel de Vries with footballer Michael Owen.
“We will continue strengthening our brand by always turning ‘What if?’ into ‘What is’ as we further expand our performance in China,” said de Vries.
