Dr. Andreas Schaaf, an 18-year veteran of the automotive industry, has been appointed to the position of Cadillac Vice President Europe, effective July 1st, 2015. Schaaf will report to Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen and will be responsible for overseeing Cadillac’s European business outfit.

“With more than 18 years of experience in key global and regional roles in sales and marketing for premium automotive brands, Andreas is a great addition to the Cadillac leadership team. He will help us to further refine our global retail and customer experience strategy, as well as set up Europe for future growth,” said Johan de Nysschen.

Schaaf, 44, comes to Cadillac from having spent the entirety of his nearly-two-decade career with BMW AG. Schaaf began with BMW in 1996 in product controlling, product management, and strategy; moving from there into leadership positions throughout regions such as Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe.

Schaaf served as the President of BMW Group India from April 2010 to November 2012, during which time he was responsible for bringing MINI to the country. In his most recent position, he served as the VP of Sales and Marketing for BMW Group in South Korea.

“I am excited about the opportunity to join Cadillac and I am looking forward to working closely with the team and our retail partners on building a solid business foundation for the Cadillac brand internationally and here in Europe.” said Schaaf.

Cadillac also announced that Dr. Thomas Sedran, President and Managing Director, Chevy and Cadillac Europe, will step down June 30th, 2015. Les Turton, current Sales Manager, Chevy Europe and Managing Director, Chevy UK, will take over Sedran’s Chevrolet responsibilities for the brand’s eventual re-organization in the Western and Central Europe regions.
