As the weather cools down, auto show season begins. We’ve already goggled at the vehicles displayed at SEMA and the Miami Auto Show, and now we’re preparing for the LA Auto Show, which opens next week. Some automakers prefer to keep their plans under wraps until the show begins, but Scion just can’t hold it in any longer. After months of teasing, the automaker has finally released images of the Scion iM Concept to get our juices flowing. And flowing they are.

Hello, beautiful

The Scion iM concept is simply gorgeous, from its “Incrediblue” (geddit?) paint color to its low ride height. The hot hatch has certainly caught our eye, even though, as with most concepts, we’ll probably get some lame, toned-down version for production—if the iM reaches production at all.

In order to make the iM concept truly drool-worthy, Scion added geometric grille inserts, 19-inch forged alloy wheels with sporty performance tires, vented front rotors, and 4-piston calipers. Scion evidently took its main inspiration from European touring cars, which is absolutely fine with us. We only hope that the iM concept proves to be as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.

Tongues back in mouths, please

“The tastes of today’s younger buyers have evolved. They want a car that provides excitement and individuality, as well as the comfort, technology and reliability that Scion offers,” noted Scion Vice President Doug Murtha. “The iM Concept combines sleek styling with the versatility of a modern hatchback to catch the eye of Scion customers. Stay tuned for more on how we will bring this vision to the road.”

If, like us, you’re now counting down the hours until you can learn more about this glorious hatchback, mark your calendars for 3:40 pm PST. And if you’re an avid Twitterer, use and follow the hashtag #iMDriven to keep up on all things iM. We certainly will be!
