It’s hard work making a van seem like anything more than…well, you know, a van…but Nissan seems up to that unenviable task. With the its e-NV200 VIP Concept, Nissan takes its all-electric commercial van and makes it a first-class experience, upgrading it in such a way that its luxury is fit only for those aforementioned people of great importance.

The luxurious appearance of the Nissan e-NV200 VIP Concept starts with a sharp-looking two-tone blue exterior that professes the van’s zero emissions status. Truly, one of the functions that Nissan advertises for the e-NV200 VIP is the ability to drive indoors for the shuttling needs of that super-super special VIP sort.

The interior is decked out with white leather/blue accented seating, black flooring and white ceiling upholstery to create a better sense of space, and two “Club Class” rear seats positioned in front of a 21.5” DSP monitor that is set up to display movies or media from passengers’ mobile devices.

Since it wouldn’t be a first class experience without an ample amount of breathing room, the e-NV200 VIP Concept affords passengers with 670mm of legroom. Yikes.

Of course, since it’s a zero emissions vehicle, the electric drivetrain (an 80kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery) is nearly completely silent, only further enhancing the e-NV200 VIP’s ride quality.

“The e-NV200 Evalia [upon which the e-NV200 VIP Concept is based] is already an unprecedentedly quiet and comfortable vehicle, and this concept takes zero emission downtown transportation further, to a new level of serenity. The e-NV200 concept for VIPs is guaranteed to generate interest from luxury VIP operators,” said Dany Boulenger, Nissan’s Global Corporate Sales Division General Manager.

The world gets its first live look at the e-NV200 VIP Concept today at the 65th Hannover Motor Show.
