January 2018 belongs to the Nissan Note. The popular compact car, due to its e-POWER electrified powertrain, has secured the title of best-seller for Nissan in Japan.

According to Nissan, the e-POWER equipped Note has been gaining attention since November 2016.

“The car is driven by an electric motor that’s powered by a gasoline engine. The 100% electric motor drive system treats drivers to powerful acceleration, quiet operation and exceptional fuel efficiency, while the role of the gasoline engine is strictly to generate electric power,” reports Nissan. “Nissan is planning to introduce more e-POWER models globally.”

Securing the fourth spot overall for sales in January was the Nissan Serena, which also earned the top spot in its segment. The Nissan Serena e-POWER minivan, which is also equipped with the award-winning technology of ProPILOT assist, made an impressive debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show and featured aluminum wheels, a blue-accented badge on the grille, and custom LED tail lights.

“ProPILOT Assist is the foundation for the autonomous vehicles of the future, helping drivers maintain lane control, navigate stop-and-go traffic, maintain a set vehicle speed and maintain a set distance to the vehicle ahead — all with a simple two-button operation,” according to Nissan.

Nissan is committed to deliver consumers cutting-edge technologies that redefine the automotive industry and how the world drives.

“These very strong sales results prove that our customers in Japan know great products when they see them, whether it is e-POWER technology in the Nissan Note or ProPILOT technology in the Nissan Serena,” said Daniele Schillaci, executive vice president for Nissan. “Here in Japan, Nissan will continue delivering high quality products that make our customers’ lives better and move people to a better world. That is what Nissan Intelligent Mobility is all about.”
