Eight Ford Vehicles Most Popular on Edmunds.com
Edmunds has announced the winners of its 2015 Most Popular awards, and it should come as little surprise that the brand with the biggest buzz is also the brand that was 2014’s most-Googled automaker and the easy day-one show-stealer at the Detroit Auto Show.
Ford racked up eight 2014 Most Popular on Edmunds.com awards with the F-150, Expedition, Explorer, Mustang, Shelby GT500, Fiesta, Transit van, and Transit Connect wagon all establishing themselves as one of the top three most-researched vehicles on the website over a 10-month period.
“We are proud to see more interest in Ford vehicles than any other brand on Edmunds.com,” said Chantel Lenard, Ford director, U.S. Marketing. “The fact so many people are researching Ford vehicles shows our product portfolio is truly world-class and we offer the vehicles customers want.”
Ford was also deemed the most popular car brand of 2014 in the Google Trends report, which cited the massively-buzzed-about 2015 F-150 and Mustang as popular search engine terms.
Given the immediate impact Ford has made in 2015—launching the Shelby GT350R, F-150 Raptor, and oh-my-god-it’s-so-beautiful GT in the same day and promising a new Edge, Explorer, and Focus RS later in the year—it’s not difficult to project Ford in a similar situation when next year’s Most Popular awards roll out.
“Of all brands, Ford earned the most consideration from in-market car shoppers in 2014,” said Edmunds.com CEO Avi Steinlauf. “This bodes well for a great year in 2015.”
