Fixing it Forward

With all of the negative stories on the news today, it’s easy to lose faith in humanity. That’s why it’s important to highlight when people do things to help others. One such instance is Eric the Car Guy and his Fixing it Forward series on YouTube.

What is Fixing it Forward? It was born when Eric the Car Guy, an ASE Certified Master Technician from Ohio, began publishing videos on YouTube and maintaining a website about how to repair cars on your own. He realized that many of his viewers were probably trying to learn how to do car repairs because they couldn’t afford to take their cars to a garage. Eric decided to start a series where he finds a deserving car owner, usually with an older vehicle, and does repairs on it to help it keep running well. He looks for sponsors and other funding to help pay for the repairs and Eric gets the added benefit of having more repairs to feature on his YouTube channel.

2003 Nissan Sentra

The latest vehicle to be added to Fix it Forward is a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R owned by Jerry Hall, a veteran who relies on his car to get to and from his consulting jobs. The car has about 256,000 miles on it, and because of the extremely high mileage there were some issues preventing the car from running its best. So far, Eric has given the car properly sized tires, a new brake system, fixed power steering issues, replaced a front ball joint and wheel bearing, and swapped out the timing chain and its water pump.
